The marker and sculpture are directly south of Quetzaltenango's historical train station, now unfortunately rented out as a mattress store.

5. An additional nearby marker for the Manuel Lisandro Barillas Military Brigade
This additional marker is attached near the entrance to the historic Quetzaltenango train station. It commemorated the 30th anniversary of the brigade at this location in 1975. The military brigade was closed in 2004 and many of its past leaders are accused of torture, kidnapping and murder.

A few meters east of the marker is this large sign for the Intercultural Center of Quetzaltenango. The center itself does not appear to be operational at the site as of the taking of this photo.
