1. In memory of Pater J Schardt Marker
Inscription. In memory of Peter J Schardt Born in Sackville October 7 1878

Attended services as a boy in the Immaculate Conception Church founded in 1856.

No man in the US Mail Branch of the government did more to promote the present day system or to demonstrate his loyalty to men and women in the services.

As the years went by he grew in stature and became a National figure beloved by those with whom he served.

The highest honor that could come to any man was his selection by the War and Post Office Department to serve overseas during World Wars I and II in establishing and maintaining mail service with this country.

Awarded the Medal of Freedom by the War Department

Erected in 1952 by the Wisconsin Chapter National Association of Post Masters and friends
