Inscription.   Hier stond de boekhandel van Casparus Commelin (1636-1693), boekverkoper, krantenuitgever en stadshistorieschrijver van Amsterdam. Beroemde buren (aan het Damrak) wyen de kaartenmakers en uitgevers Blaeu, Janssonius, Elzevier en Pers.

This was the bookshop of Casparus Commelin (1636-1693), bookseller, newspaper publisher and Amsterdam city historian. Famous neighbours on the Damrak included the cartographers and publishers Blaeu, Janssonius, Elzevier and Pers.
