Washoe City-Founded 1861-County Seat of Washoe County, Nevada territory. Timber supplier to the Comstock Lode. Home to 10 quartz mills and 281 stamps. Lost county seat to Reno 1871; victim of V&T Railroad success, Carson & Tahoe timbering and huge, new Carson river mills.
