Here lived Julius von Sachs, born October 2, 1832 in Breslau (now Wroclaw, Poland), died May 29, 1897 in Wuerzburg. Professor at the Julius-Maximilians University Wuerzburg, 1868-1897. Chair for Botany. Pioneer in plant physiology.
