Inscription. St. Louisans received their first glimpse of the "birds-on-the-bat" jersey in a pre-season game against the Browns. The logo was inspired by table decorations designed by Allie May Schmidt for a men's luncheon in Ferguson, MO attended by Cardinals GM Branch Rickey.
