century. Its architectural plan is of a military type, evident in the existing towers at each of its corners. Its facade is of a Neogothic style, expressed in the design and dimensions of its doors and windows. The construction of El Fortín (The “Little Fort”) altered the upper part of the pyramid in an irreversible way, because if there had been any pre-Hispanic constructions there, they were destroyed. Because of the building’s date of construction, it too is now considered a historical monument.
