Inscription. One of the liveliest signs of the Milwaukee River's rebirth is RiverSculpture, the ever-changing out-door sculpture gallery that has gradually emerged along the RiverWalk. Although the gallery includes new pieces every year, there are several notable permanent installations.

Beth Sahagian's "Acqua Grylli" is a 13-foot freestanding bronze and limestone sculpture on the west side of the River between Kilbourn Avenue and Wells Street. It is one of seven artworks placed around the city by Milwaukee's Neighborhood Millennium Art Initiative. Created in 2001, it is said by the artist to represent a gateway with magic potential to an enchanted city.

Richard Taylor's welded aluminum "You Rise Above the World," located at the east end of the Kilbourn Avenue bridge, was donated to the RiverWalk by members of Professional Dimensions in 1999.

Schomer Lichtner's whimsical sculpture of a cow and ballerina is located next to Kilbourn Avenue at the south end of Pere Marquette Park. The ballerina in the 2003 painted steel sculpture was inspired by dancers from the Milwaukee Ballet. The sculpture was a gift to the people of Milwaukee from Lichtner, who celebrated his 100th birthday in 2005. It is his only public outdoor artwork.
