Ponce Inlet course lengthened to 4.3 miles. January race with 75 starters won by local driver/mechanic, Marshal Teague. Switch to newer car strictly stock rule for July. Red Byron drove winning 1949 Olds wrenched by Red Vogt. 3 women raced. Ethel Mobley finished 11th. Sarah Christian 18th and Louise Smith 20th after spectators helped upright her flipped car.
