1. Matador Office Marker

Inscription. Nicknamed the "Scotsmen’s Dive," this building began as the guesthouse for visiting representatives of the Scottish company that owned the Matador Ranch. Forty years later, the clapboard-walled house was converted to the business office for the huge ranching operation. The front room was equipped with desks and office machines used by the manager and accountant. In the center was a bedroom; the bathroom was on the west end. The building has bead board ceilings and tongue and groove wood floors. It reflects the fact that ranching was, first and foremost, a business operation.
