1. Site of Albany's First Official Public Building Marker
Inscription.  In 1908 construction of the Albany School began on Main Street, now Solano Avenue. The building was demolished during 1946-1947 to make way for the current Cornell School buildings.
 
Erected by Albany Historical Society. (Marker Number 1.)
 
Location. 37° 53.422′ N, 122° 17.762′ W. Marker is in Albany, California, in Alameda County. Marker is at the intersection of Solano Avenue and Cornell Avenue, on the right when traveling east on Solano Avenue. Touch for map.
