1. L.P.Fisher Library Marker
Inscription.   L. P. Fisher (1821-1905) was the first mayor of Woodstock, from 1856-1880. He was a lawyer and he advocated free public education and technical training. Due to his advocacy he left a free public hospital (his private residence), a library, a vocational school and the Fisher Memorial School to the town in trust. The library, completed in 1914, is made with a pressed brick exterior and the interior is finished with mahogany. It was contracted by J. F Ryan and designed by architect Ernest Fairweather.

L.P. Fisher (1821-1905) fut le premier maire de Woodstock de 1856 à 1880. Avocat de formation, il soutînt l'édueation publique et l'enseignement technique gratuit. Il a laissé à la ville un hôpital publique (så résidence privée), une bibliotheque, un college technique, ainsi que la « Fisher Memorial School.» La bibliothèque, complétée en 1914, est faite de briques pressées à Textérieur et-de bois d'acajou à l'intérieur. Elle fut construite par J.F. Ryan et conçue par l'architecte Ernest Fairweather.
