Regarding Van Sweringen Demonstration House. This house is one of five demonstration homes designed by architect Bloodgood Tuttle for the Van Sweringen Company on this block of Van Aken Boulevard. They were not model homes, but rather demonstrations of the sort of homes that might be built on the lots being sold by the Van Sweringen Company. These houses were intended to illustrate the high quality of structures the Company would require buyers to build on its lots.

The houses are numbers 3105, 3113, 3125, 3137, and 3149 Van Aken Boulevard. All but 3125 have historical markers denoting their status as demonstration homes. It is not known whether 3125 had a historical marker in the past or not.
