Inscription. Formed 28 April 1836 from School Dist. #11. School from 1836-1934 Meeting House to 1955. 1/5 ac. sold by J. J. Hallock for $50. Trustees: D. Roe - J. Knapp - J. Wood
 
Erected 2000 by Chester Town Historian.
 
Location. 41° 19.269′ N, 74° 17.041′ W. Marker is in Sugar Loaf, New York, in Orange County. Marker is on Kings Highway 0 miles west of Kings Highway Bypass (County Route 13), on the left when traveling west. Touch for map. The marker is mounted on the original part of the structure (right), now an office of the Sugar Loaf Engine Company. The left portion was an addition added by the fire company when it was their fire house.
