Merrill Laws Ricketts enlisted in Cincinnati on July 20, 1917; service number 117204; promoted to Corporal December 7, 1917; deployed to France with the American Expeditionary Forces on December 31, 1917; killed in action on October 4, 1918; awarded the Croix de Guerre with Silver Star, among other decorations.
