1. Joseph and Mary Robinson Martin House Marker
Inscription. Prominent Austin contractor George Fiegel completed this house in 1903 for Joseph Anthony (1867-1947) and Mary (Robinson)(d. 1934) Martin. A noted wild game conservationist, Joe Martin primarily is associated in Austin business history with the Austin White Lime Company. After Mary’s sister died in 1918, the Martins reared three of her children in their home, requiring an addition on the southwest corner of the house. Exhibiting elements of both Queen Anne and Colonial Revival styles of architecture, the Martin house remained in the family until 1971.
