Inscription. Near here the first permanent English settlers in North America first landed on American soil, April 26, 1607. From here they went on to make the settlement at Jamestown. The brick lighthouse was built in 1791.

Erected 1936 by Conservation & Development Commission. (Marker Number KV-15.)
