1. Beery's Shipyard Marker
Inscription. Many Confederate naval vessels, including the ironclad “North Carolina,” built here. Site lies across river on Eagles Island, ¼ mile west.
 
Erected 1959 by Archives and Highway Departments. (Marker Number D-60.)
 
Location. 34° 14.142′ N, 77° 56.723′ W. Marker is in Wilmington, North Carolina, in New Hanover County. Marker is on Market Street (U.S. 17) just west of North 4th Street, on the right when traveling west. Touch for map.
