1. Wauhatchie Marker
Inscription. This Cherokee sub-chief lived in the area to the north of the road following the expulsion of his tribe from Georgia and until their forced removal to Indian Territory in 1838. An influential citizen here, he had served in Col. Gideon Morgan's Cherokee Regiment of Jackson's Division in the Creek War, and been severely wounded.

Location. 35° 1.148′ N, 85° 22.428′ W. Marker is in Tiftonia, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. Marker is at the intersection of Cummings Highway (U.S. 11) and Myrtle Avenue, on the right when traveling west on Cummings Highway. Touch for map. in front of Wauhatchie United Methodist Church.
