Inscription. Founded 1678. Six houses built before 1720 are on Huguenot Street, on the Wallkill River, homes of refugees from France.
 
Erected 1935 by New York State Education Department.
 
Location. 41° 45.121′ N, 74° 5.202′ W. Marker is in New Paltz, New York, in Ulster County. Marker is on Broadhead Avenue 0.1 miles west of North Chesternut Street (New York State Route 32), on the right. Touch for map.
