Location. 34° 37.473′ N, 84° 12.775′ W. Marker is near Ellijay, Georgia, in Gilmer County. Marker can be reached from Route FS42. Touch for map. Southern Terminus of Appalachian Trail footpath, which stretches over 2000 miles to Maine. 0.9 miles from parking lot accessed via Forest Service Road 42 (high clearance vehicle recommended). Marker is in this post office area: Ellijay GA 30536, United States of America.
