Erected to perpetuate the memory of the pioneer lumbermen of Michigan through whose labors was made possible the development of the prairie states.

Marker can be reached from Monument Road, 0.1 miles north of River Road National Scenic Byway, Au Sable River. From Tawas - From M-55 turn right onto Wilber Rd. go 1.25 miles north to Monument Rd. 10. Lumberman’s Monument Marker
Here is a photo that has been in my family for a long time, and I would like to share it with everyone else. I was told that one of the people in the statue is supposed to be related to me somehow, but I have not been able to find anything out. The person on the right looks somewhat like the person in the middle of the statue, but I don't know any names of anybody in the statue or the photograph.
