Inscription. Site of the first death of an Indian child on forced removal of Potawatomies Sept. 5, 1838.
 
Erected 1976 by Rochester Troop 285 of Boy Scouts of America.

Location. 40° 59.179′ N, 86° 14.539′ W. Marker is near Rochester, Indiana, in Fulton County. Marker is on State Road 25 south of County Road E 400 S, on the right when traveling south. Touch for map. Located on the North side of Mud Creek on the West side of Indiana State Road 25. Marker is in this post office area: Rochester IN 46975, United States of America.
