1. Salmon Ruin Marker
Inscription. In the late 11th century, influence from Chaco Canyon, 45 miles south of here, began to be felt at this site and at nearby Aztec Ruins National Monument. The Chacoans abandoned this large and well-built masonry pueblo by 1150, and shortly thereafter, Mesa Verde people reoccupied it for approximately fifty years.
 
Location. 36° 42.204′ N, 108° 1.698′ W. Marker is in Bloomfield, New Mexico, in San Juan County. Marker can be reached from U.S. 64 at milepost 61. Touch for map. Marker is at the entrance to the Salmon Ruin Museum. Marker is at or near this postal address: 6131 Highway 64, Bloomfield NM 87413, United States of America.
