1. Croxton’s Raid Marker
Inscription. This tablet dedicated to the men of Companies D and I which, along with other detachments, attacked the Tannehill Ironworks March 31, 1865 under the command of Capt. William A. Sutherland, First Brigade, First Division (McCook’s), United States Cavalry Corps, Military Division of the Mississippi (USA).
 
Erected 1988 by Des Moines Civil War Round Table.
 
Location. 33° 14.967′ N, 87° 4.146′ W. Marker is near McCalla, Alabama, in Tuscaloosa County. Marker can be reached from Confederate Parkway. Touch for map. Marker is located in the Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park close to the bathrooms in front of the two cannons.
