Inscription. This tablet commemorates the signing of the ratification of the Constitution of the United States by the thirty-nine commissioners of the State of New Jersey, executed on the site of this bank on the 18th day of December 1787.

The one hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the ratification of the Constitution was here celebrated on the 11th day of November 1937.
