"D" 1st Ill. Lt. Art., McClernand's (1st) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.
This battery was engaged here with 3 guns in repelling last attack upon McClernand's lines Sunday afternoon April 6, 1862.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 51.)
 
Location. 35° 8.767′ N, 88° 19.983′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Hamburg-Savannah Road 0 miles north of Cavalry Road, on the left when traveling north.
