13th Iowa Infantry,
Hare's (1st) Brig., McClernand's (1st) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.
This regiment, while moving from its position near Cavalry Field, became engaged here at about 4.30 p.m. April 6, 1862. It retired in good order and joined Tuttle's command near the camp of the 14th Iowa, where it was in position Sunday night.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 14.)
 
Location. 35° 8.636′ N, 88° 20.225′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker can be reached from Cavalry Road ¼ mile west of Hamburg-Savannah Road, on the left when traveling west. Touch for map. 200 yards south of Cavalry Road on a trail starting by the 15th Illinois monument, in Shiloh National Military Park. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
