Army of the Tennessee.
Buckland's (4th) Brigade,
72d Ohio, 70th Ohio, 48th Ohio,
Sherman's (5th) Division.

This brigade, with its regiments in order from left to right as above, was engaged here at 10 a.m. April 7, 1862. It advanced 600 yards and at 12 m. Was engaged at exact place where the 70th was in action on the 6th.

Location. 35° 8.885′ N, 88° 20.837′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is on Cavalry Road 0.8 miles west of Hamburg-Savannah Road, on the right when traveling west. Touch for map. 140 yards north of Cavalry Road in Jones' Field, in Shiloh National Military Park. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
