54th Ohio, 55th Illinois,
Stuart's (2d) Brigade,
Sherman's (5th) Division.

These regiments were engaged here at 10 a.m. April 7, 1862. They advanced on the left of the 3d Division 3/4 of a mile where they were engaged in the closing action of the day.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 186.)
 
Location. 35° 8.895′ N, 88° 20.891′ W. Marker is in Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker can be reached from the intersection of Cavalry Road and Sherman Road, on the right when traveling west. Touch for map. 250 yards north of intersection (where Cavalry Road turns sharply left and becomes Sherman Road), at west edge of Jones Field, in Shiloh National Military Park. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
