43rd Illinois Infantry,
Raith's (3d) Brig., McClernand's (1st) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.

This regiment reformed here at 11.30 a.m. April 6, 1862 and advanced, fighting, 600 yards. At 2 p.m. It fell back to this place and soon after retired to Savannah Road.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 38.)
 
Location. 35° 8.822′ N, 88° 20.885′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is at the intersection of Cavalry Road and Sherman Road, on the right when traveling west on Cavalry Road. 100 yards north of intersection, in Jones Field, Shiloh National Military Park.
