"D" 2d Ill. Lt. Art., McClernand's (1st) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.

This battery, with 6 James Rifled guns, was engaged here at 11.15 a.m. April 6, 1862. It held the position only a few minutes when it was driven back losing four guns.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 45.)
 
Location. 35° 8.452′ N, 88° 20.966′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker is at the intersection of Sherman Road and Corinth-Pittsburg Landing Extension Road, on the left when traveling south on Sherman Road. Touch for map. Located in Shiloh National Military Park.
