1. Chicago Railways Company Date Stone Marker
Inscription.
This date stone came from the Chicago Railways Company "West Shops" complex located in Chicago at Maple and Harding Ave. Streetcars were built there and the shops survive to this day serving the Chicago Transit Authority. This stone was part of a setting familiar to many of the streetcars saved at this museum.
 
Erected by Illinois Railway Museum.
 
Location. 42° 13.708′ N, 88° 31.64′ W. Marker is near Union, Illinois, in McHenry County. Touch for map. Marker is about 60 feet west of the west end of Barns 3 and 4, on the grounds of the Illinois Railway Museum.
