Riverview at Hobson Grove
Inscription. Located at the West end of Main St. Home of Col. Atwood G. Hobson, lawyer, banker and Union officer, begun, 1860. During Confederate occupation of Bowling Green, 1862, CSA Gen. Simon B. Buckner saved house at request of his friend, USA General W. E. Hobson, son of owner. Used as munitions depot. After the war, Col. Hobson made this his home until death, 1898.
 
Erected 1968 by Kentucky Historical Society & Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 1127.)
