Inscription. In 1672, missionaries William Edmundson and George Fox, founder of Society of Friends, in America, held religious meetings in this area.

Location. 36° 11.586′ N, 76° 27.231′ W. Marker is near Hertford, North Carolina, in Perquimans County. Marker is at the intersection of Bypass State Highway 17 and Perquiman's River, on the right when traveling north on State Highway 17Bypass . Touch for map. Marker is located on right on Rt. 17 bypass north, immediately after crossing the Perquiman's River. Marker is in this post office area: Hertford NC 27944, United States of America.
