Inscription.
Originally purchased Sept. 11, 1902 by the city as a rock quarry. Dedicated as a park on April 5, 1912 after the January 10, 1912, park bond election. 10 acres.
 
Erected by City of Chanute.
 
Location. 37° 41.194′ N, 95° 27.835′ W. Marker is in Chanute, Kansas, in Neosho County. Marker is at the intersection of Pine Street and Northwestern Avenue, on the left when traveling west on Pine Street. Touch for map.
