1. John Scull Marker
Inscription. Pioneering editor and publisher who issued first edition of Pittsburgh Gazette, 1786. First newspaper west of Alleghenies, it became the Post-Gazette, 1927. A Berks County native, he was active in Western Pennsylvania's civic affairs; home and print shop were here.
 
Erected 2005 by Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.
 
Location. 40° 26.342′ N, 80° 0.23′ W. Marker is in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in Allegheny County. Marker is at the intersection of Boulevard of the Allies and Market Street, on the right when traveling east on Boulevard of the Allies. Touch for map.
