27th Tenn., 16th Ala., 44th Tenn., 9th Ark., 8th Ark., 3d Miss., 55th Tenn.,
Hardee's Corps,
Army of the Mississippi.

At this place the right of this brigade was engaged with infantry and the left was under fire from Waterhouse's Battery at 9 a.m., April 6, 1862.
 
Erected by Shiloh National Military Park Commission. (Marker Number 438.)
 
Location. 35° 7.578′ N, 88° 21.066′ W. Marker is near Shiloh, Tennessee, in Hardin County. Marker can be reached from Peabody Road ¼ mile east of Corinth Road, on the right when traveling east. Touch for map. On a trail in the woods. Trail begins 170 yards south of road near the southeast corner of Rea Field. Marker is 300 yards south of field. Marker is in this post office area: Shiloh TN 38376, United States of America.
