Freedom Boat Yards
Moving from Phillipsburg, Stephen Phillips and Jonathan Betz built a three acre yard for building of steamboats and barges in 1832, on land bought from Abner Lacock. The firm changed ownership many times in the next forty years. 138 boats and barges built here.
