1. Old Indian Reservation Marker
Inscription. Just to the north was the Nottoway Indian Reservation. William Byrd, while running the boundry line between Virginia and North Carolina, visited these Indians April 7, 1729. Indians were living here as late as 1825. (Marker Number U-124.)
 
Location. 36° 42.753′ N, 77° 5.026′ W. Marker is in Courtland, Virginia, in Southampton County. Marker is on Meherrin Road (VA 35) (Business U.S. 58), on the right when traveling south.
