Inscription. Methodist. Begun 1874; reorganized as woman's college, 1926. Named for Lyman Bennett of Troy, N.Y. Campus 2 bl. S.
 
Erected 1962 by NC Archives and Highway Departments. (Marker Number J-55.)
 
Location. 36° 4.291′ N, 79° 46.703′ W. Marker is in Greensboro, North Carolina, in Guilford County. Marker is at the intersection of East Market Street and Dudley Street, on the right when traveling east on East Market Street. Touch for map.
