1. Mattamuskeet Marker
Inscription. Largest natural lake in N.C. Center of an Indian reservation, established 1715. Twice drained and farmed. Wildlife refuge since 1934. One mile N.
 
Erected 1995 by Division of Archives and History. (Marker Number B 42.)
 
Location. 35° 26.47′ N, 76° 12.618′ W. Marker is near Swan Quarter, North Carolina, in Hyde County. Marker is at the intersection of U.S. 264 and North Carolina Highway 94, on the right when traveling west on U.S. 264. Touch for map.
