1. Kermit Marker
Inscription. County Seat of Winkler County. Organized in 1910. Incorporated in 1938. Named for Kermit Roosevelt, son of President Theodore Roosevelt, who had visited a local ranch. One of the top oil and gas producing counties in state. Ranch center. Gateway to New Mexico.
 
Erected 1964 by State Historical Survey Committee. (Marker Number 2927.)
 
Location. 31° 51.019′ N, 103° 4.61′ W. Marker is in Kermit, Texas, in Winkler County. Marker is on Jim Sharp Boulevard (State Highway 302) 0.1 miles east of South East Avenue, on the left when traveling east. Touch for map.
