Moore County
Established 1871; named in honor of
Major Gen. William Moore
He settled in Tennessee in 1808, coming from Kentucky. Commanded a company in the Creek War; finished the War of 1812 as a Major General. Member of the State House of Representatives, 1825-27.

Bedford County
Established 1807; named in honor of
Thomas Bedford
Captain in the Continental Army; Lieutenant Colonel of Volunteers, War of 1812: Member of the State Legislature and a very influential citizen.

Location. 35° 24.652′ N, 86° 16.41′ W. Marker is in Tullahoma, Tennessee, in Bedford County. Marker is on Shelbyville Hwy (U.S. 41-A) near Carr Creek Rd, on the left when traveling north. Touch for map. Marker is in this post office area: Tullahoma TN 37388, United States of America.
