1. The Burns Cottage Marker
Inscription. This building was built as Madame Louis' French Laundry in 1856. The area to the right has remained a garden since 1852. In 1976 Grace Burns deeded as a gift cabin to U.O.P. which had used the property since 1952. State purchased it in 1991.
 
Erected 2012 by Native Sons of the Golden West, Columbia Parlor #258. (Marker Number 136 06.)

Location. 38° 2.15′ N, 120° 24.009′ W. Marker is in Columbia, California, in Tuolumne County. Marker is on Yankee Hill Road 0.1 miles east of Parrots Ferry Road (County Route E18), on the left when traveling east. Touch for map. The plaque is mounted on the boulder in front of the cottage.
