1. Ebenezer Academy Marker
Inscription. A few hundred yards east is the site of Ebenezer Academy, founded in 1793 by Bishop Asbury, the first Methodist school established in Virginia. It passed out of the hands of the church but remained a noted school for many years.
 
Erected 1931 by Conservation & Development Commission. (Marker Number S-58.)
