Inscription.

The Kilgour School was formed in 1869. The building was located about 4 miles southwest of Oskaloosa and the the [sic] corner of 78th and Lincoln. It was moved to Oskaloosa in 1950 and became part of the elementary grade school complex (Grades 1-4), along with Plum Grove, Tibbott, and lumber from Lone Tree Schools. The combined Kilgour/Plum Grove building was relocated to Old Jefferson Town in 1975. Presently it houses the Jefferson Co. Genealogical Society Resource Center (Library).

Location. 39° 12.783′ N, 95° 18.569′ W. Marker is in Oskaloosa, Kansas, in Jefferson County. Marker is on Walnut Street (U.S. 59) 0.2 miles north of Lawrence Street, on the right when traveling north. Touch for map. Marker is in Old Jefferson Town.
