Regarding 392nd Bomb Group. The group flew 285 combat missions, suffering 1552 casualties including 835 killed in action or line of duty and 184 aircraft lost. The 392nd's experiences against the Me-110 aircraft industries at Gotha would reward the Group with a coveted Distinguished Unit Citation (DUC) for superior bombing and leadership efforts in this "BIG WEEK" operation, but crew losses would be significantly large.
