1. Bridgewater College Marker
Inscription. Located two miles southwest in the town of Bridgewater, this liberal arts college is affiliated with the Church of the Bretheren. It grew out of the Spring Creek Normal School and Collegiate Institute, founded in 1880, and became Bridgewater College nine years later. It has been coeducational from the beginning.
 
Erected 1954 by the Virginia State Library. (Marker Number I-13.)
