1. Mess Hall Marker
Inscription. Good and plentiful food was a rare treat for many Americans during the Great Depression. The Mess Hall served over 200 men a day and enrollees gained an average of 15 pounds during their stay. In addition to regular meals, the Mess Hall was a hub of activity. It served as a place for holding dances, education classes and other events.
